After I purchased my first home I struggled to figure out what the general style would be. Styles and design is really important when you are decorating your home. Sometimes people throw together whatever they find on sale without a style or design plan. I decided that I wanted to design something that I would enjoy for an extended period of time. But, I had a really tight budget! I searched through different furniture stores in my town and started to become frustrated with the available selections. Most of the furniture stores only carried really plain and ordinarily styles of furniture and only had a design book with photos of the kind of furniture that I was looking for.
What I did not understand was that most of the things in the catalog was available online for a better price. Apparently, most furniture stores by furniture from the same vendors and mark the price up and then sell it in a store for a profit. I looked at their catalog and made mental notes of what I was attracted to and then I came home a searched for similar pieces online. Check out the furniture statement pieces that I found online.

A sofa futon will make any room feel large because of the sleek build of the sofa. When you add a multi-colored rug underneath, you are on your way to a complete chic room. Try to choose a rug that has a small amount of color or a textured pattern with solid colors so that your sofa can shine.
Sectional sofas are my go to set for family rooms and dens. When you add a sectional sofa to your family room, you add a comfy space to lounge and relax. Fabric sofas are versatile and allow you to change the look of a room by adding different throw pillows area rugs.
If you are working with a small space and want to add an end table to your décor, this end table is perfect! I love the design because of the shelves. Shelves are important when you have a tight space. Shelves add storage and texture to your space. This end table will offset furniture well and the shiny finish adds a chic look to small spaces.
White end tables are a beautiful addition to living spaces with colorful walls. The idea behind white end tables is mostly geared toward farmhouse themes. But if you have a colored or patterned wall, this end table set will fit into any design.
Wooden media stands are really great to add to a room, especially when you have a mounted television. Mounted televisions and media tables are versatile because of the accents that you could add to the media center and the organized space for all of your media needs. There are so many great media stands available that I had a hard time deciding which one was best. When I decided on the one listed, I decided because I change my furniture a lot and I could design at least three different living rooms around this media stand.
Clocks are the easiest addition to your home décor. Once you’ve decided on your theme, clocks are really fun to play around with because the designs available can fit into any design. Clocks are also often close to an entry and they are noticeable because they are placed higher on the walls away from furniture.
Another important piece of furniture is your bookshelf. I loved this bookshelf when I first saw it because it was so versatile in style. Depending on how you dress it up, this bookshelf could fit into any theme. I decided to make my bookshelf multi-purpose by adding baskets to the bottom shelf for throw blanket storage.
It is so much easier to add a bunch of things to my cart and edit them based on my design idea. I love shopping online because everything I need is in one place and I don’t have to shop in multiple stores for different pieces. I can see how everything will come together at one time, before I purchase it.
I love to save money on my furniture and home décor pieces. What is your favorite furniture shopping tip?
